2 cups cranberry juice, unsweetened if you prefer
84 ounces Honeycrisp apple cider (or your favorite)
1 orange, studded with whole cloves (approx. 15-20)
1 cup water
1 granny smith apple, cored/sliced
3 cinnamon sticks
2 star anise
1/2 cup brown sugar or Sukrin gold
Mix cranberry juice, cider, and water in large saucepan or crock pot.
Add brown sugar (or Sukrin gold) and stir to dissolve.
Add apple slices, clove-studded orange, cinnamon sticks and star anise.
Simmer for 4 hours.
Serve in glass mug.
Garnish with a dollop of whip and a slice of candied orange peel or fresh orange slice, if desired.
